ITALIAN ELECTIONS

If you have visited this blog for a long time, you will remember that a year ago(almost!!) I wrote about the rotten state of Italian Politics, and how the chnce would soon enough come for them to get Berlusconi out of office. On sunday, their chance will have come. Romano Prodi will hopefully be the man to rid the highest levels of the government of nepotism and corruption. One of his main promises is to withdraw his troops from Iraq as soon as he gets into power. Not only is this something that worked for Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero in the Spanish 2004 election, but Prodi has the advantage of being 3% higher than Silvio Berlusconi in the latest opinion polls. Not much more to say on this, lets just hope Italians make the right choice on Sunday!
Berlusconi is a repulsive person, but Prodi only promises to undo whatever Berlusconi did. For example, the labour situation for the Italian young adults remains unsolved as Prodi tries to win Berlusconi on the economic issues alone.
Am I the only person reading this blog?
