terrorism

Mr.Osama bin Laden(still in hiding for those of you who had erased him from your minds) vowed to attack the United States and so he did. Over 3000 people died in the wtc crashes, but we know that story.
When the world eye was on him, Mr.Bin Laden said he would attack, as head of the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda, the allies of the US war in Iraq.”United Kingdom, Spain, and Italy” he pointed out. On the 11th of March 2004, 200people died in the renfe trains of Madrid. Normal commuters, mostly of poor or immigrant origins. This event caused public outrage against the “partido Popular”of SPain for following the US into Iraq(91%of Spaniards were against the war) and the PSOE took charge of the government just 3 days later. As we all know, London suffered similar bombings this 7th of july, only with about a quarter of the deaths. The idea of a train exploding in an underground tunnel and human body-parts flying around splattered with flood is frankly disgusting. Frankly it is no surprise that Italian politicians are starting to rise public awareness about the subject, as they realise they are the only target that hasn’t been attacked. What I still find amazing, is that Mr.Tony Blair still has not got the courage to admit publicly he was wrong to lead the British troops(without a legal reason) into Iraq. In fact, only last week, Mr.Blair said that the involvement in the Iraq war had nothing to do whatsoever with the suicide bombings in downtown London. -I find his words amazing.-

  1. Although it is true that the bombings were the retaliation for british presence in iraq, the worst thing you can do with terrorists is give in. The worst thing. That is why blair is against publicly admitting he was ‘wrong’ about going in (then again, yet another spinoff of the same issue that seems to be the only thing holding this blog together) iraq. By doing so, public pressure to get out would most certainly increase, and eventually he would be forced to retreat.

However, moral issues aside (lets forget about Michael Moore for just one second here please), to solve this problem, Britain must not give in. By retiring its troops from iraq, the terrorists would see that their tactics actually work, and islamic terrorism of this kind would continue.

Blair really is in a very tight spot. On one hand, he has the ‘retiring’ option, which although may make him seem like a good person in public, and his popularity would increase rapidly, the terrorist threat would be maginfied. For example, Al-Qaeda still makes claims on Spain (always calling it Al-Andalus), and it is not clear whether they will not strike again. On the other hand, he could stand firm, try to resist the terrorists, but he would lose public opinion, and the terrorist threat would still be there (although less effective in acheiving political goals).

Give the man a break nick, few would be able to withstand the pressure of the situation he’s in. And he does have to pull a face and let go a few ‘inconsitencies with the truth’ now and again, just like any politician has to do, even Kerry (and even people like Michael Moore - if his books didn’t make such strong accusations, they would no sell so well).

  3. In a recent Bloomberg article, a journalist followed an Albanian from the Kosovo ‘Liberation’ Army in the States. The journalist recounted, in all horror how the Albanian terrorist bought a high-end sniper rifle in a gun shop in Kansas City. The only proof that the shop keeper needed of the Albanian’s intentions was for the terrorist to tell him that the gun was for shooting elephants. The finest human killer on this planet, and the shop keeper sells it to an Albanian terrorist of all people who wants to ’shoot elephants’.
The next bit was even scarier. The Albanian took the gun onto a PLANE, after having received APPROVAL from the authorities (having told them that he wasn’t carrying any ammo), and he simply hitched a flight to Kosovo ‘to kill Serbs’. He also said that an army of terrorists were hiding in the States ready to jump onto a plane into battle when needed, almost certainly business class. This kind of thing makes me wonder: What the FUCK is going on? WHY isn’t anyone doing anything? Hello, this is a TERRORIST with a GUN on a PLANE. Anyway, when in today’s world, ANY given muslim could be a suicide bomber (I feel sorry for innocent muslims, but islamic fundamentalists have built such a name for their religion) and they let a muslim ALBANIAN on a plane with a bleeding GUN with only one purpose: to KILL people!
Then the serbs are accused of ‘murdering and slaughtering’ Albanians. The terrorist himself clearly stated: ‘We would like to slaughter all the Serbs. I wouldn’t be surprised if they felt the same way. I wouldn’t care.’
WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON???
